Its been a while
My fellow Combermerians, it has been some time since I last communicated in this forum; my apologies for not having kept it up; the demands of work and trying to maintain a work/life balance has indeed caught up with me. Like for many of you, this struggle is real. Yet, we must persevere and keep striving to do better.
As I write this note, I hope all of you are keeping well and doing what you enjoy. This is becoming more important as I grow older and time seems so fleeting. COIVD aside, we have lost a number of stalwarts during this year and many of us have been impacted by the loss of loved ones. It has been difficult for sure, but hang in there, brothers and sisters, it gets better.
We continue to assist, as much as we are able, those among us who are in need. That said, there is a need to replenish the Benevolence Fund as we were called upon over the past two years, to make significant contributions and offer support to alumni and students alike. We are grateful for the assistance given but this is an appeal for steady and continuous contributions to the Fund. Donations can be made via store on our website or they can be sent to the Treasurer. You would be surprised how far $5 per month from each alumni, would take us. We would be in a position to do much more and have greater impact.
This year, with restrictions being lifted and life beginning to take on a more normal shape that we are used to, we have an opportunity to celebrate CSOSA Week in person. This is something to which I am looking forward and I hope to be able to greet many of you in person during our week of activities. Plans are being put in place so stay tuned for the details.
This month as we welcome new students into the fold, we also extend a warm and hearty welcome to our new Principal, Ms. Julia Beckles. We look forward to building a cohesive and supportive relationship as we endeavour to give our best to our alma mater and wish her a rewarding experience and much success. Welcome to Combermere! Or the CSOSA welcomes you home.
Brothers and Sisters, let us make the best of the remaining year and with eager feet press.
Up and On!
